It's clean and the local law enforcement works hard keeping order in the face of huge crowds of tourists. If you appreciate small-town life situated on the beach and enjoy the convenience of a big city such as Wilmington nearby, then Wrightsville Beach may be your new paradise. There are 5 miles of clean beach on which to take a morning job or simply stroll looking for shells. Almost everyday of the year you can spot local surfers off the shore waiting to catch a wave or a family taking a walk with their children.
The Wrightsville Beach real estate market is stable and constant. If a property comes onto the market, it will often sell quickly. Many of the existing homes have been in local families for years and years. Several of these beautiful properties serve only as summer houses and are often rented out. When homes do go on the market, no price is too high. Expect to pay between $600,000 and $3 million for any single-family home, and much higher prices for oceanfront property as it is most coveted.
Little available land is left development on the island and high-rises are limited to 96 feet. Most of the opportunities for purchase are either replacement of older houses with new ones or, most likely, in condominiums and rental units.
The good news is several communities have sprung up around Wrightsville Beach to allow for convenience to beach access but still have single-family living, town homes, and patio homes.
